2022-10-11Announcement:

The Silicon Valley Pipe Band is more than just two separate competitive
pipe bands, it is an organization. While there are various sections, pipes,
snares, midsection, and drum majors, we are a cohesive unit.

Both bands are taught by the same familiar faces, playing similar styles of
arrangements, scores, technique, and instruments. Having experienced people
in each band assisting with tuning, performances, etc. is a core part of
our experience.

This creates an environment where anyone is able to move between either
band in the organization when they are able. Our members are welcome to
play in either band, or participate in parades and performances.

We welcome people who have a positive attitude; strive to make great music;
and are able to make the time for practice, rehearsals and performances.
Our organization enjoys and offers a wealth of resources and experience.
We are fortunate to have people in every section of our band who have
competed at every pipe band grade!

With this in mind, the band’s musical leadership has made a change in the
Grade 4 band.  Johnny Blimling is no longer the Junior Drum Sergeant of the
Grade 4 band. There were many factors and considerations in making this
change.

This was a very difficult decision, but was made to ensure the long term
health and growth of our organization. Johnny has elected to leave the
organization.

We ask for your patience as we identify and fill the role of Junior Drum
Sergeant of the Grade 4 band.

While this decision was made for the organization, it involves and affects
everyone differently. While emotions may run high, we can have direct and
respectable conversations about this change.

I love seeing each and everyone every week so we can make music together.

I look forward to seeing you at rehearsal!
