Hi all, As discussed at the AGM, it’s election season for the Board of Directors (BOD) and music leadership. Elections will be conducted electronically. All nominations must be seconded by another member and agreed to by the nominee in order to be included on the ballot. Members can nominate themselves and others. Please submit nominations and seconds to me, Lesley Kucharski, the current SVPB BOD Secretary, via direct message (DM) on Slack (Yes, drummers, you must use Slack). I will not reply to an email. DO NOT REPLY ALL TO THIS EMAIL. Election nominations open for a 10-day period starting tomorrow, October 20, 2021. See below for further details on the election process. 1. Elected positions BOD: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Pipe Corps Representative, Drum Corps Representative, Member-at-Large. Music leadership: Pipe Major, Drum Sergeant. 2. Nominations (10 day nominating period) Nominations for elected positions will open on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at 12:00 AM and will be accepted for a period of 10 days, closing Friday, October 30, 2021 at 11:59 PM. All positions are open for nominations. Nominations will be accepted in written form by the Secretary and will require a second. Please submit nominations and seconds to Secretary Lesley Kucharski via DM on Slack. If you self-nominate, please include the person who seconds in the DM. If you are nominating someone, please include the nominee and the person who seconds in the DM. Please use this format in your DM to the Secretary: I nominate (Person’s name) for SVPB (BOD or music leadership position). (Person’s name) seconds the nomination. The Secretary will confirm in writing via DM on Slack whether each nominee accepts or rejects the nomination. Nominees who accept their nomination will be placed on the ballot. 3. Submit Statement for Ballot Nominees may submit a campaign statement to the Secretary via DM on Slack no later than Monday, November 1, 2021 at 1:00 PM to be placed on the ballot for members to consider before placing their vote. 4. Voting (one week voting period) Electronic voting will be anonymous and commence on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at 12:00 AM, and end on Monday, November 8, 2021 at 11:59 PM. Election results will be announced on Tuesday, November 9, 2021.
