Hello Band Representatives,

Please review this information for the massed bands shows at Las Vegas this
weekend. We will have a parade-style opening ceremony of individual bands &
clans at Noon on Saturday. We will also have a massed band performance at
4:30 PM each day.

IMPORTANT -- The pipe band associations across North America recently
approved new massed bands drum scores to be used starting this year. Could
you please reply to me and confirm that your drummers have reviewed the new
scores? If enough of us are ready, we will give them a try. I will
communicate that verdict before we step off on Saturday evening. The scores
are attached for your reference.

Saturday's opening ceremony will require the bands to form up at 11:50AM
along the sidewalk adjacent to the main stage area. Please play a tune set
from your own repertoire. We ask that you do not play Scotland the Brave as
that is included for the duty band at the end of the opening ceremony. The
attached diagram shows the route. This is a very simple ceremony with just
a couple minutes of playing for each band.

Order of March:

Duty Band - Phoenix (will enter from backfield and center up with the stage)
Band 1: Las Vegas Emerald Society
Band 2: Wasatch & District
Band 3: Glendora High School
Band 4: Kevin R. Blandford Memorial
Band 5: Billings Caledonian
Band 6: Silicon Valley
Band 7: Oklahoma Fire
Band 8: Landers Volunteer Fire
Band 9: Pasadena
Band 10: Utah

The closing ceremonies each day require the bands to form up at 4:15 PM
along the sidewalk outside VIP across from the main stage. As shown in the
diagram, each grouping of bands will march on to a tune as decided by the
Pipe Majors. The groups will process forward toward the stage and halt.
Please work with the Drum Majors to guide you into place.

Groups:
1 - Las Vegas Emerald Society
2 - Phoenix / Wasatch
3 - Glendora / Blandford
4 - Billings / Silicon Valley
5 - Oklahoma Fire / Landers Volunteer Fire
6 - Pasadena 3 & 5
7 - Utah 4 & 5

Once in place we will play these tunes together - all performed at the halt:

Highland Laddie
Bonnie Dundee
Amazing Grace - solo / all pipers / solo
Scotland The Brave

Saturday we will have the groups exit by marching forward, wheel left, and
out. Sunday we will dismiss in place.

Thank you for your cooperation. Good luck to all in competition and we look
forward to working with you.

Sincerely,

DMaj Kevin Conquest
DMaj David Melton
