Dear Pipe Majors
WUSPBA is planning an exciting new idea at the Pleasanton Games this year.  We will be setting up and manning two tents within the piping and drumming contest area.

The "Learning Center" tent will focus on attracting potential new players to our art.  We plan to provide short introductory lessons on practice chanters, practice pads and mallets to anyone interested.  We will have a map showing all the pipe bands within WUSPBA  and information to direct people to pipe bands in their areas.  We will have a QR code link to a WUSPBA map with further links to lists of bands and instructors in our different branches, and our contest calendar.  Our goal is to inspire potential new players of all ages and provide easy access to bands and instructors.  There will also be a raffle for a practice chanter and practice pad/sticks open to all interested visitors willing to share their contact information.

What we need from you is the proper contact information for your band and any instructor contact information you wish to provide.  To that end, please fill out the following google form. If you want to provide printed material - flyers, business cards, brochures, whatever you have to publicize your band, feel free to bring it to the Learning Center tent Saturday morning.  Please fill out the form even if you will not be attending Pleasanton as we will be updating our website with this information.

Piping & Drumming Learning Center

The "Expert Table" tent will be manned by more experienced players from Northern Branch to provide help to existing WUSPBA members.  Help with tuning prior to a solo competition, help with instrument set up, answers to questions about instruments, etc.  This will especially benefit members who are at the games without support of more experienced band mates or instructors.

We will be organizing shift schedules for volunteers to man the Learning Center, probably 1/2 hour shifts and  email announcements looking for sign ups will be coming.  YEC members will be helping to attract visitors and man the Learning Center to appeal to younger visitors.  As Pipe Major, please consider signing up for a shift as you would be an ideal person to reach out to potential new players. We need drummers too, of course, so please encourage your drum sergeants to participate.

Please share this information with your bandmates, and encourage them to participate.  This is an opportunity for educational interaction with  visitors to the games, and if it goes well, we may be able to introduce it to other games next season.

Please fill out the google doc! Thanks for your time,
