Drum Salute options, for Christmas show

Hi, drummers

Last night there was further discussion about this; we would like to include a drum salute in the Christmas concert.  It's always been a crowd favorite and many audience members lamented that we did not perform one in last year's show.  However, we have very little time now to learn, rehearse, and get a piece ready to perform.

The consensus is that we have just a couple of options: either the Duthart salute (the version of the classic "Max Rayne" composition that Johnny sent out to folks recently) which some of the snare drummers do already know some parts of, OR bring back the "Four Horsemen" salute that the Stewart Tartan band performed in the past (most recently about three or four years ago I believe).  I'm attaching the sheet music for Four Horsemen (snare parts ... I do also have tenor and bass parts) and an audio recording, and here's a link to a video of us performing it (note that we included a prelude from another piece, in this performance, plus some extra-fancy backsticking and freelancing by one Mr. Michael French!):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=866bM2xNOr4

In either case, we would really only need at least four snare drummers, and I can play bass (OR for Four Horsemen I could play snare and somebody else can play bass -- I think Marie did it at least once for that piece).

Please reply to this email if you're interested in being one of the performers, and which piece you'd prefer to play.

Thanks

Jeff
